At 1875, we’re aware of the changes we all need to make in order to save our planet.
We know that packaging plays an important role in protecting products and reducing waste – but it shouldn’t come at an unaffordable cost to the planet. As a business, we remain dedicated to doing our best for the environment.
We have some strategies that we hope will minimise waste.
Materials and design
In collaboration with our suppliers, we can reduce and simplify the types of materials we use in our packaging so that less is used, and it's easier for customers to recycle. We’re currently reviewing the material used in our packaging, trialling oxo-biodegradable pouches and investigating 100% compostable mailing bags for the the future.
Changing customer behaviour
We’ll be working to help customers recycle more with simple, clear and consistent information on packaging.
Our policy on packaging
We never use more packaging than is needed. What we do use is from sustainable sources, and goes on to be reused or recycled.
